1 基本の関係代名詞 (that, which, who, whom) の使い方

A: What are you reading?

B: I’m reading the book ← (that Ryunosuke Akutagawa wrote). The title is “Rashomon.”

who whom
物・動物 which which
人、物、動物 that that

(1)what

A: Here is a present for your birthday.

B: Thanks! It’s just what I wanted! This is the best present for me.

(2)whose

A: I think this is a book ← (whose cover you like very much).

B: Yes, I like the cover design of the book. I’ll buy it.

C: Don’t judge a book by its cover.
